Plug and Play is seeking an operations associate for its legal department. Working out of our globally-recognized accelerator in Sunnyvale, this associate will gain valuable business and legal experience onboarding cutting edge startups in the Silicon Valley. The work will be complex and challenging, but the reward will be highly marketable skills for recent graduates who are interested in law, venture capital, business, or technology.

It is not required for applicants to have a legal background! Our department is uniquely involved in multiple aspects of the startup/venture capital world. People with a variety of interests can gain great experience that will translate into diverse fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and summarize key terms of sophisticated venture capital financing documents
  • Maintain complex charts that track investment portfolio data and generate status reports
  • Attend and record meetings with startup founders and different departments within Plug and Play
  • Research market trends and industry trends
  • Attend Expos, Demo Days, and other exclusive Plug and Play events
  • Organize contracts, VC contacts, and other key information
  • Create presentations
  • All general office/administrative duties that are required for this position
  • As knowledge and experience increases, take ownership of new and different requests and add value through new job skills and accomplishments

  • The ideal candidate

  • B.A. from an accredited college
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficient in polite chitchat
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite
  • Neurotic attention to detail
  • Self-starting and unafraid of toil
  • Able to understand and synthesize complex ideas
  • Amazing Excel talents or a proficiency with numbers a plus
