Broadly, this position’s responsibility will be to assess potential investment and collaboration projects with Chinese Venture Capitalists and investors who might invest in our company’s portfolio of startup companies; U.S. entrepreneurs seeking to enter the China market; universities and private businesses; and Chinese companies present in the U.S. seeking collaboration opportunities in the U.S. Assessments will involve economic research and thorough financial reviews of target partners. Assist in developing partnership business packages and outreach strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct market research and analyses to support both U.S. start-up companies’ expansion efforts in China, as well as Chinese corporate expansion in the U.S.:
  • Comparative and statistical review of start-up activity (overall volume, distribution across faculties, industry focus, Intellectual Property generation, etc.). Conduct due diligence by reviewing business plans of start-up companies (Market potential, scalability, and financial modeling/profitability analysis)—for purpose of vetting and assessing viability of business for obtaining investment, valuation, and etc. Conduct comparative review and analyses of economic data (activity levels across countries, technology sectors, financial projection, public and private investment flows, etc.). Conduct comparative review of venture funding availability and levels, and return on venture investments

  • Research, identify, and evaluate potential buyers/investors (Chinese VCs and large corporations with U.S. presence) for Plug & Play, LLC.’s existing portfolio of over 300 start-up companies, and others target companies:
  • Research recent corporate acquisitions worldwide with a strategic focus on China. In doing so, review key metrics for consideration, including include company revenues and profitability, and in particular the year-over-year growth in these metrics; industry-specific key performance indicators in comparison to incumbents and other technology companies; and qualitative factors including company personnel, product/service key differentiators, and etc.  Follow the buyer's market and trends for startups being acquired. Present acquisition trends to internal team members and to portfolio company founders that are at an exit stage and ready to be acquired. Reach out to new corporations across multiple technology sectors and introduce Plug & Play, LLC.'s portfolio to their matching needs.  Negotiate corporations’ strategic involvement with technology companies (acquisitions, strategic investments, technology licensing, co-development, channel distribution, etc.)

  • Conduct economic research and analysis to identify and select industries and areas in China, to seek additional business opportunities for Amidi Partners:
  • Comparative review and analyses of economic data (Activity level across industries/ technology sectors, competitiveness analyses, public and private investment flows, etc.). Comparative review and analyses of government policies and laws governing technology start-ups, venture funding, business creation (e.g., Availability of and access to funding, ease of business registration, and etc.).  Market survey of competition (Technology and Science parks, Data-centers, business incubators, service providers, and etc.) and review of barriers to entry
  • Conduct marketing campaigns and marketing campaign analyses on targeting startups in China and U.S., to seek additional business opportunities for Plug & Play, LLC

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration (or related field)
  • 1 year of work experience as Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or closely related position
