The Expo (Spring and Fall)

Expo is the premier Silicon Valley showcase for introducing ""best of the breed" emerging technology companies that are introducing their product and service offerings in the current year. The Expo is held twice a year in May and September. The event is by invitation only and brings together Silicon Valley executives, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and multiple media channels including Wired Magazine, Red Herring, Venturebeat, GigaOm, San Jose Mercury, San Francisco Chronicle and New York Times, networking in a highly interactive, intimate, relaxed atmosphere. The all day event is a unique blend of presentation sessions of 35 companies presenting in front of 10 venture capital panelists competing for the top 6 final position, followed by one-on-one demonstrations.

Web 2.0

This popular monthly speaker series brings together Bay Area´s prominent business leaders, technologists, venture capitalists and media outlets. The event is kicked off by a networking and cocktail hour followed by a C-level executive key note speaker from a cutting-edge start-up company or fortune 100 technology company in the web 2.0 vertical. The information presented at these events consistently communicates the latest trends in the market place and the insight of experienced entrepreneurs in a casual and dynamic environment.

2007 keynote speakers included CEO of Powerset, CEO of hi5, CEO of Turn and CEO of Metacafe.

Investment Forums

The Investment Forum is held 6 times a year at the Plug and Play campus and is always accompanied by a complimentary cocktail and networking hour. At these events, start-up companies get the opportunity to present to a panel of well-recognized venture capital firms in an "elevator pitch" format. Each start-up gets five minutes to pitch their company to the panel followed by five minute Q&A session. These events are open to the public.

This "elevator pitch" style event provides a tremendous amount of time-value to our venture capital partners, the audience and especially the start-up companies. The start-up company gets exposure, public speaking practice and feedback from an experienced and wise panel of VC´s.
