Bio:
Philip Engelhardt is the Managing Partner of PhilQuo Ventures, pioneers in Micro Investment Banking services for early stage companies in web based businesses, film production and digital media. In addition, he is an advisor to market leaders in the old economy who are planning for the digital evolution of their industries.
Engelhardt has served several terms as a member of the Board of Directors of Société Générale de Financement du Québec, a diversified multi billion dollar investment fund, and of Miranda Technologies, a leading provider of technology based solutions to the global broadcast industry. He is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors of RKO Pictures, the oldest continuously operating motion picture production company. He previously served on the board of Cinequest - the San Jose Film Festival, on the advisory boards of SGF Tech, Kasenna, Acacia Research, Florida National Bank and Sensei Partners, and as Chairman of the Content Advisory Board of the Internet Streaming Media Alliance. He has also served as strategic advisor to several Governors of western states, and is a founding member of the High Technology Council of the Western Governors Association. He has been an active participant at the annual meeting in Davos and at regional meetings of the World Economic Forum since 1979.
Previously, he was Senior Advisor to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), Vice President of Strategic Relations, and a member of the company's senior executive team. Before joining SGI, he was technology advisor to Producer Rick McCallum at Lucasfilm Ltd., where they conceived and implemented the innovative digital production strategy for Star Wars. Throughout his career, Engelhardt has served as strategic advisor to the leadership of many global companies, including Air France, AT&T, Digital Equipment, Gulf+Western, Hewlett-Packard and Viacom.
Engelhardt began his career in the Wall Street community, with experience in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions and mortgage brokerage. In addition to several board memberships in the financial, technology and philanthropic sectors, he served as president of investment affiliates of BNP Paribas, this following ten years at Lehman Brothers - now Barclays Capital, and its subsidiaries. During this period, he arranged funding for many of the country's most renowned real estate developers, as well as financing the growth of several of the world's great hospitality brands. Mr. Engelhardt acted as an advisor on special tax matters to the administration of President Gerald Ford. He has long been active in state and local government initiatives, as well as numerous community projects.

Bio:
Starting in 1988, Mr. Steinberg was President of the Broadcast and Professional Company of Sony Electronics Inc. with responsibility for products and systems for the broadcast and business/industrial markets in the United States. He served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sony Cinema Products Corporation. He also served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sony Trans Com Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary providing in-flight entertainment systems.
Effective July 1st, 1999, he retired from Sony and then served as consultant to Sony Electronics. a member of the Board of Directors of Silicon Graphics(SGI), and an advisor to both the eye IO and Vioozer Corporations and a Member of the Board of Directors of Plug and Play.
He was an Executive in Residence for the Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Davis, California, teaching a course on entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining Sony in 1988,he was with the Ampex Corporation for 25 years serving in various positions including president, and chief executive officer and chairman of the board.
He has received three Emmy Awards. The first was the Charles F. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award Emmy which was presented “in recognition of many contributions to electronic technology during his career at Ampex and Sony. A second Emmy Award was for production and broadcast of the first four National Football League (NFL) games in High Definition Television. The third Emmy Award was for technical efforts at the Games of the XXVII Olympics in Australia.
He was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Broadcasters Association (NAB) Convention in 1999 from Broadcasting and Cable in recognition of contributions to electronic technology during a professional lifetime. He was also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Imaging Technology and Sound (ITS). In December 2008, Charles Steinberg was inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
He is a Lifetime Fellow of The Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers and a recipient of the Presidential Proclamation Award from that organization.
He served on the Board of Trustees for the American Film Institute for ten years. He was also on the Board of Trustees for the Vision Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the life of visually impaired individuals. He received an award from this organization for “superior achievements” and “professional excellence and social involvement”.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1957.
