Step outside of your office and throw a USB stick – you are likely to hit a conference. I can name six in September alone: EXPO, Retail COI, CloudBeat, TC3, BeGLOBAL, and Disrupt (I refuse to link to Disrupt until Techcrunch answers my emails).

Conferences are a great source of industry insights innovation elevator pitches free alcohol people to hit on co-founders networking opportunities, but let’s face it – are they really that different? If you’re going to go to a conference, you might as well GO to a conference…far away…on an island…in the Philippines. You might as well go to Geeks on a Beach and rub pasty, knotted shoulders with other hole-dwelling entrepreneurs that see less sunshine than this thing from the bottom of the ocean.
