Plug and Play’s latest acceleration program will focus on technologies and teams innovating in the retail industry. With the holiday season rapidly approaching and ecommerce sales continuing to climb, retailers are turning to unique technologies to reach new markets and differentiate themselves from the crowded field.

The Plug and Play Retail Center of Innovation connects the TOP 100 retailers globally with the most innovative startups developing game-changing technologies and applications in the area of retail. From camera apps that can identify the manufacturer of an article of clothing from a picture to applications that people can use to control their TVs, domestic appliances, and even their cars, the way we use our smartphones and technology to buy and control retail products is rapidly evolving.

The new program will kick off with a demo event on September 12th. The event will feature 20 of the most innovative startups who are changing the world of retail. Along with representatives from the top 50 global retailers and 20 ecommerce sites, and top retail technology enablers. The event will be co-hosted by Mike Calbert, Head of the Retail industry team within KKR’s Private Equity platform.
