Just in time for New York Fashion Week, independent fashion eCommerce platform nelou announces Foto 2 Fashion, a 6-week competition where designers submit unique wearable fashion inspired by pictures taken on the popular iPhone app, Hipstamatic. The competition also marks the launch of nelou in the United States.

During the competition, Hipstamatic photographs will be the inspiration for this collection and designers are welcome to either print the photographs on fabric and then create a garment, or use the photographs as creative inspiration for their designs. The competition platform for Foto 2 Fashion is provided by Talenthouse, a company dedicated to helping artists find recognition and compensation. During the last week of the competition, fashion enthusiasts can vote for their favorite designs through social media channels. Winners’ designs will become part of the Foto 2 Fashion collection, exclusively available for sale on nelou.

“The iPhone paired with apps like Hipstamatic have become the modern camera of choice for so many creative people,” says nelou CEO and Co-Founder Regine Harr. “We think it’s only natural that today’s independent fashion designers celebrate this new trend in their work, and we’re excited to see the final Foto 2 Fashion nelou collection, based on Hipstamatic photographs.”
